Review: We Live in Time is anchored by the undeniable chemistry of its two leads. Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield are a solid lead duo with performances that bring British wit and charm to an otherwise familiar narrative. Their emotional connection feels believable, drawing audiences into their characters' journey together as well as their own respective lives. However, despite the strong performances, We Live in Time still falls short of its aspirations. The film aims for a timeless, archetypal love story, but its execution feels somewhat generic. While the emotional beats hit their marks with efficiency, the overall impact is more tear-jerking than truly resonant. We Live in Time is, ultimately, a perfectly watchable romantic drama, but it lacks the depth and originality to truly stand out. While Pugh and Garfield's performances are a definite highlight, they can't fully elevate the film beyond its predictable plot and somewhat bland emotional landscape.
