Synopsis: Ethan Kopek (Taron Egerton), a young TSA agent working on Christmas Eve, finds his life in danger when a mysterious traveller blackmails him into smuggling a dangerous package onto a flight.

Review: Taron Egerton proves, once again, that he's a solid leading man, bringing equal parts charm and vulnerability to the central role of Ethan Kopek. It's particularly refreshing to see Egerton back in the action genre where he first broke through with Kingsman in 2011, and Carry-On is a strong reminder of his talent. He shares a devilishly twisted chemistry with Jason Bateman, who clearly relishes his role as the enigmatic villain. Their verbal sparring through the earpiece is a highlight, providing a darkly comedic counterpoint to the film's high-stakes action. Collet-Serra demonstrates his skill as an action director, crafting sequences that imbue even the most mundane set pieces with a sense of suspense as the threat of the package looms over the narrative. Carry-On, overall, strikes a perfect balance between festive cheer and thrilling action, incorporating just enough Christmas imagery to warrant a holiday watch without compromising the film's premise.
