Synopsis: Follows a family of ducks on their migration, including all the mishaps along the way. Mack Mallard (Kumail Nanjiani), an overprotective duck father, reluctantly allows his family — wife Pam (Elizabeth Banks), son Dax (Caspar Jennings), daughter Gwen (Tresi Gazal), and Uncle Dan (Danny DeVito) —  to migrate to Jamaica. Aided by new friends like Chump (Awkwafina) the pigeon, Delroy (Keegan-Michael Key) the macaw, they face mishaps in New York and at a duck farm run by GooGoo (David Mitchell).

Review: Migration is, in most departments, a slightly lackluster film. Here the story is simple enough, and the values of family and togetherness plain to see. Unlike the best children’s films, however, it is incapable of extending its reach to an adult audience. Even one scene which sees the ducks inadvertently winding up in a farm, destined for the slaughterhouse, deals with its subject matter in a very basic, matter-of-fact way. There is no ambition to speak on the environment, industrial farming or the wider ecosystem which causes the ducks to migrate. While these topics are not required to make an entertaining film, their absence is particularly felt because of the lack of genuine fun that comes from the narrative. Frustratingly meandering and with enough side quests to test even a toddler's patience, Migration is fine in its delivery, but a feathery flop when it comes to achieving any lasting impact.
