Synopsis: Late Night with The Devil is a supernatural horror film set in 1977, centered around the live broadcast of a Halloween episode of the popular variety late-night talk show Night Owls with Jack Delroy. The show’s host, Jack Delroy (David Dastmalchian), attempts to boost ratings by featuring an occult-themed episode with guests including psychic Christou (Fayssal Bazzi) , skeptic Carmichael Haig (Ian Bliss), parapsychologist June Ross-Mitchell (Laura Gordon) and Lilly D'Abo (Ingrid Torelli), a survivor of a Satanic cult. Chaos ensues.

Review: Late Night with The Devil is an intriguing film that doesn't quite deliver the scares it promises. The self-imposed constraint of unfolding during a TV broadcast adds pressure to maintain audience attention, but it also leads to a significant amount of filler. While some sequences capture the pulpy essence of late-night TV, the visual bombast often overshadows the intended horror, rendering the scares more parodic than impactful. Satirical elements exploring the manipulation of news and the inflation of supposed possessions are also interesting premises but, again, feel diluted within the broader narrative. The central performances are, nonetheless, engaging, particularly David Dastmalchian’s turn as the charismatic yet troubled Jack Delroy. Dastmalchian's range shines through in the opening timeline sequences, showcasing his comedic and dramatic talents. Like the late-night TV format it borrows from, this is a film best viewed with tempered expectations and a willingness to embrace the falsity of its design.
