Conditioned by my own viewing experience, I can safely say that The Lost City is very much a film you could take your mum to see - combining all the tried and tested components of a romantic comedy, but with some added violence. Its an action adventure film too, set into motion when once archaeologist turned erotic novelist Angela Lovemore (Sandra Bullock) is kidnapped by evil entrepreneur Abigail Fairfax (played with excellent wit from Daniel Radcliffe). Her saviour? Only Channing Tatum, playing her book’s cover model, Alan. It’s a humorously self-aware role for the actor, who continues to prove his excellent comic timing. Although there's nothing spectacular about this film and its technical aspects leave much to be desired, it's certainly a fun experience. It's full of laughs, leeches, and even a bit of Brad Pitt, so it's sure to provide some comic relief from the hardships of the outside world.
