Well the journey to Zack Snyder's Justice League has certainly been an eventful one. From personal circumstances, to studio blunders and dodgy moustache special effects, not many films in recent time have been tainted with this much contextual baggage. Staring down the barrel of a four-hour long, uncut version of Snyder's vision, it's safe to say I was a little nauseous at the idea of watching this film. With every Snyderesque slo-mo, flashback and cheesy DC reference, I became dizzier. There's a lot of exposition in this film, so much that it feels like Snyder is hitting you over the head with information. The tweaks to effects are welcomed, there’s no doubt about that. But, like many Snyder films, the plot and drama feels at service to the bombastic action. There’s plenty of moments, but not enough eventful scenes beyond the gargantuan character introductions. An improvement, yes, but nothing memorable.
