Everybody's Everything gained a lot of critical interest when it was announced that acclaimed American director, Terrence Malick, would be an executive producer on the project. Two of Malick's proteges, Sebastian Jones and Ramez Silyan, directed the project and the attention that it received at SXSW last year was enough to spark my interest as well. The film expertly fleshes out the boyish nature behind the artist Lil Peep (real name Gustav Elijah Γ…hr). A misstep might have been to spend most of the film in the makeshift California studio where Peep recorded much of his music, but Jones and Silyan look deeper than the art and, much like Peep's life, the film shifts drastically from different locations and features interviews with a wide variety of friends and relatives. This storytelling captures not only Peep's dynamism outside of the studio but also the star's rise to fame and tragic death.
