Director: Brad Bird
Writers: Brad Bird
Release Date: 13th July 2018
Hot Rating: 💥💥💥💥
After a mammoth fourteen-year wait, Pixar's favourite superhero family are back and better than ever. The franchise draws on some of its winning formulae to achieve the same awe as its predecessor, including its family humour and grumpy dad persona in Mr Incredible (Craig T. Nelson). Beyond these features, director Brad Bird showcases his kinetic filmmaking qualities through great action scenes. These sequences are particularly impressive in the way that they build a futuristic American setting, complete with sleek monorails and glistening architecture. Beneath these sparkling visuals lies a message on the importance of family and community, the latter of which the Incredibles fit in comfortably. After the hype surrounding the 'The Incredibles 2', the film would have been a hit if it had merely matched the success of its first instalment; instead, this sequel amplifies its humour and, above all, its action, providing joy to children and adults alike.
