At the success of 2016's 'Deadpool', the choice of both Marvel and Twentieth Century Fox to push James Mangold's 'Logan' for a '15' certificate is as much to their gain as it is to fan's delight. It is from the latter of these factors that the film's violence is its greatest asset, and one to which benefits greatly from the ferocity of Hugh Jackman's (Logan) performance as the claw-slinging Wolverine. Although the character is a physical and mental shadow of the hero audiences knew from the X-men series, it is in this aged persona that the film voices its wisdom on the superhero genre, to which appears as raw and exciting as ever. In the climax of the X-men, amongst the growth of the Marvel franchise, so are viewers able to appreciate this instalment for the honesty in which it narrates the progression, and subsequent death, of a superhero.
