'Get Out' - 💥💥💥💥

In an eclectic horror/mystery/comedy crossover, Jordan Peele stuns on his directorial debut, following the crazed interracial relationship of Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) and Rose (Allison Williams). Although the film's interwoven genres prove to test audiences seeking a conventional horror flick, Peele succeeds in executing the film's tonal shifts, to which editor Gregory Plotkin (editor) supplements with exciting shot movement. Of which, the party sequence is a wonderfully lavish manoeuvre through African American stereotypes, both a ridiculous and scarily accurate of post-Obama America. While the film's hyperbolic themes and tonal matter sometimes make for confusing viewing, there's no doubt that Peele relishes in viewers discomfort, to which the film's conclusion is an emblem of its continual violence and madness. With Jordan Peele already receiving wide acclaim for his expertise direction, I would hope the same to be true when the Oscar nominations are announced on the 23rd January.
